In with information, out with knowledge

Things you WANT to know January 13, 2010

A typical “page about me” would begin with my name, where I am from, when I was born, etc., ect., ect. To make this interesting, so you can be engaged in what you are reading, I decided to write what I am passionate about and what truly drives me to do the things that I daily do. I mean, lets face it, the last thing you want to do is waste your time learning the life history about someone that you do not even know. It is kind of a forward thing anyways, right? If we were on a first date I wouldn’t tell you that I was born in a dusty old hospital and the doctors were surprised to see that I had the anatomy of a female instead of the expected male. (That is totally made up, by the way). No! You would never want to go out with me again. So, in honor of the trending topic I have presented, my passions are here for your enjoyment.

There is nothing in this world more satisfying than walking in a bookstore and inhaling the heady air that is dense with paper cologne. Thousands of intricately placed words fill the pages as the thoughts of writers spill into the room. You can practically taste the ideals and creations of the authors who write for readers like me. I could sit in a bookstore for hours browsing, the world of knowledge at my fingertips. On top of spending hours, I could spend money on books that I may never get the chance to read but would treasure to own in my personal library. A collector of books you may call me, but I prefer an entrepreneur of creative ideas. Stretching the mind through using the imagination is a guilty simple pleasure that will give me more than just hours of satisfaction. It blesses me with a lifetime of enlightenment that will forever be of use.

A more extroverted fascination of mine would consist of hiding behind the lens of a rather nice camera capturing God’s beauty. I guess hiding behind something would not really be put in the category of “extrovert” but it is sometimes a challenge to get your courage escalated enough to go out and snap a picture of something indescribably beautiful. Though I have a love for books and words, there are so many things that were created in this world to have more description than words. Where words end, photographs begin. As contradictory as the two passions may be, I do believe that the two can live in a utopia, completing each others thoughts and sentences. Ironic?..

All passions and desires have a central focal point. A place where they begin. A source to the spring, so to speak. For me, my source of all passion and desire is God. He is my best friend and my encourager. Being the creator of all things, beautiful words and all, He has captured my heart in a gentle swoop. He has blessed me with the gift of desiring to learn so that I can one day teach it to others. He has given me an eye for allure in the world. My reasons for doing the things that I do everyday are simply Him. With us, it is not about a religious view, it is a relationship. I spend time with Him because I love Him. That, my friends, is the most important thing that you should know about me. Everything else, are things you WANT to know.
